After you have decorated your bathroom tips, you are ready to really make sure your bathroom has a homey feel! These are some of my small bathroom counter decorating ideas and even for guest bathroom counter decor ideas too! Here are some of my best tips on how to decorate bathroom countertop and even on a budget with style!!!
Make sure you read through all of these tips and tricks to get the best bang when decorating your bathroom countertop.
1. Start with a Base
What do I mean by a base? I think most bathroom countertops (if space is allowed) should have a sturdy physical item that will help them with lifting up the space. This can mean certain marble trays, or just a lifted bathroom counter stand. I can list some examples here:
2. Have A Place For Everything
I really do believe in this for almost every thing that we do/decorate in our homes. Make sure that you have a space to put things away. When you are using your bathroom, you want to grab, go and leave. But you do not want to come back to a mess.
Here are some examples of what you should be grabbing to put on your bathroom countertop.
3. Add in Greenery
Greenery should probably be in every room in your home. I strongly believe in this because it adds so much color, without it being TOO much color, if that makes sense. If we are looking for neutrals, we still have a nice green plant that will be able to help us stay in the neutral zone.
You can grab a clear vase for bathroom counter and then add in fake greenery or real greenery if you want to keep up!
4. Towels for Bathroom Counters
If there is enough space in your bathroom, you should roll up your towels like so:
This gives it that hotel feel but also fits right in for your guest bathroom counter decor ideas!
I love these Target Casaluna pieces, they can be expensive so they are definitely an investment.
3. Invest in VERSATILE pieces FOR ANY DECORATING
Okay, this really can be beneficial for any room in your house. However, I really do not believe in putting hundreds of dollars in towels or something that you can find elsewhere that is a lot more affordable. Most of these things are going to be recycled so many times in our lives. We may get tired of the color, we may get tired of the trend, really the list goes on! So invest in a vase for your bathroom that you know you can use in a guest bedroom or guest bathroom one day! Something that is not just for one room in your house only!!!
Like for me, I am looking for a runner rug for my bathroom, but I do know that I can use one from my kitchen or hallway in my bathroom. I want to be able to invest in pieces that are to my decor style and also decorate my bathroom as well!
How to decorate bathroom counter does not have to be hard when you are focusing on quality rather than quantity. You do not want your bathroom counter to be overfilled with just some trendy pieces. Focus on a few things you want for your bathroom and go from there.
4. DIY DECOR!
I used to think I was not creative enough to DIY everything or even one thing in my house. I DIY’ed these vases with some gesso paint I got from Michaels and they look AWESOME!!!! They fit my style, they are versatile. And I can actually do an entire post on how I did these super cheap! You can find your vases at Goodwill for cheap and then get some paint and reinvent the entire product. SO cute.
You can also DIY some bathroom counter organizers such as toothbrush holders, ring holders, etc.
It is really about creativity and how you want to use it!
I also want to include that DIY decor can mean DIY mirrors as well. If you think your bathroom will look significantly better if you added a mirror in there, then do that! Sometimes you can find great sizes and styles at Ross, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, etc. And then you can DIY install it!
5. DETAILS MATTER IN YOUR BATHROOM
Usually, your bathroom is not going to be HUGE to where people are looking at furniture pieces in your bathroom decor. Invest in looking for quality detailed pieces. That might be a random wooden stool that you need in your bathroom. Whatever it may be, work on details that really represent your house, decor style, etc!!
Also, look for these small pieces in your local thrift stores. I have found my cheapest pieces at Ross, Goodwill, and Target!
6. ORGANIZATION IS KEY WHEN YOU WANT TO DECORATE YOUR BATHROOM COUNTER
I really do believe this in every case, decorating your bathroom counters is just another home project that also needs organization. When you are looking for some of the best bathroom vanity decorating ideas, a lot of videos/posts will forget the importance on organizing that vanity as well. We want our bathroom counters to be free of clutter and not have too many unnecessary things on the counter.
Therefore it is important to invest in organizers in order to keep things where they should be. Here are some of the best organizers:
