This post is all about the best home organization tips.
TOP 10 HOME ORGANIZATION TIPS AND PRODUCTS
Have you ever gone stir crazy about how to keep your house organized and clean at the same time?? I am a big believer if there is a place for things to go, then your house will stay clean!
1. Storage Bins To Organize Your Home
Whether you want to organize your pantry, your linen closet, storage bins are the best way to go. I have found some good ones at Target, Dollar Tree, and even Walmart. Get them! They are so useful. Especially when you are storing away food, you should have a designated spot like dry foods, chips, rice/pasta, and the list goes on. This makes a huge difference in how well you can keep your house clean! Have a place for EVERYTHING!
2. Cleaning Closet
Normally, I would say you do not need a cleaning closet. However, when I converted my hallway closet into a cleaning closet, it changed the game! You should focus on making sure you are only buying cleaning products that you are actually using! I think it is important to recognize that too much of anything can create clutter. This has to do with a lot of cleaning products. I have a whole post on the best bathroom/other cleaning products you can check out here.
Having a cleaning closet is one of my top home organization tips because of how everything really just stays together!! SUPER important that you know where to find what you are looking for.
3. Spice Cabinet
I would never think say to organize your spice cabinet is one of the top 10 tips unless I really meant it. I did not think it was super important until I did it myself. Trust me, if you are someone who is constantly using different seasonings for different recipes almost every day, then you need to organize your spice cabinet.
I can actually link some products I used for mine. I basically just used a wooden stool for all my spices. It does get messy if I do not keep up with it, but other than that, it does look good!
4. VELVET BLACK HANGERS: ORGANIZATION PRODUCTS
I also did not think I would ever be putting this in my top 10 home organization tips list..but here we are. I recently switched over to all black velvet hangers from plastic ones. GAME CHANGER. It really does save you SO much space and opens up your closet. It makes it look so much more cohesive, you absolutely need to try this hack! They are actually pretty cheap at your local Sam’s or Costco. I think I got 50 hangers for about $12. I have not seen a better price than that!
5. BATHROOM ORGANIZATION
To be completely honest, I could probably write an entire post on this one. I have not nailed it down to a tee, but I will see grabbing these little containers from target for my skincare drawer. It will make you seem so much more organized than you actually are. It does get annoyingly messy when things are flying everywhere in our drawers. Get these containers to help you become more organized even in your bathroom!
I also keep a big storage bin with bathroom cleaning products underneath the sink. I personally do not like to mix those bathroom and other house cleaning products together!
6. DONATE OR DECLUTTER!
I am sorry, but if you are one of those people who has a full garage full of boxes, I cannot even deal! How do people keep up with that? I have to say that, it is super important to declutter!! DONATE CLOTHES. If you have not worn something in a year, you will probably not be wearing it in the next year. I know it can be super hard to let go of some items, but I really do think the key ingredient to a clean, organized home is less clutter!
Donate to a good cause. Post up your nicer things on Facebook. Whatever it may be, make sure you are doing your best and decluttering as you go!!
7. SHOE RACKS EVERYWHERE
I used to think shoe racks were so ugly and I had no need to use them at all. I was wrong. I am a big “NO SHOE IN THE HOUSE” person. I am sorry, I just am! Therefore, I really do think having a shoe rack in your closet is just the bare minimum! Use them in your garage, your main closet, a hallway closet if you have kids. Whatever it may be, shoes get lost and thrown around as soon as you get home. You want to have a place for everything in your house! Aka having a shoe rack! You can find some cheap ones at Walmart/Target. GET THEM for your #7 home organization tips!
8. ORGANIZE OFFICE PRODUCTS
This home organization tip may not apply to everyone, but especially since a lot of have become work from home. I really think that if you have a office, all important papers/pencils/office products need to go there! I cannot find the link to the exact one I have. But I am going to insert a picture below of what I use. This is something that has all my pencils, highlighters, papers, notepads, just office things that I may not use everyday but they are in my office room! You can organize however you need to for your office, but this is just an idea!
9. GARAGE ORGANIZATION
This should be like my top 1 home organization tip! I hate seeing messy garages. Half of my garage is a gym and the other half is where I park my car. I like having the space to have both things available. However, I have seen some awesome organization tools online for a clean garage! Sometimes you just have to throw it in your garage. Here is a rack that you can use in your garage and it is not too expensive either!
10. CLEANING SCHEDULE
Here is just my last tip for home organization. Make sure you have a cleaning schedule. What day do you wash towels, mop your floors, clean your bathrooms? It should not be every day! It should be split into a few days a week so you do not go stir crazy! I am going to make a post on my ultimate cleaning schedule and hopefully remember to link it back here when I do!
