This post is all about guest bedroom inspiration.
Guest Bedroom Inspiration
I know that once you have mastered your own main bedroom, your next task usually is going to be the guest bedroom and how you want to decorate that. Now this can be small guest bedroom ideas to even some modern guest bedroom ideas. But I am here to give you the best guest bedroom inspiration on a budget with some items that I will also recommend!
Making it a cozy guest bedroom
Adding in a couch will do such good wonders to your guest bedroom! Now if you have a small guest bedroom, I think that adding in a statement chair will do almost the same.
Next, to make it really cozy, I would make your bedroom brothers and sisters with your main master bedroom. What do I mean by that? I mean use the same colors, theme, styles, but do not make it identical or totally different. If you make it totally different, your guests may not feel like they are at YOUR house. They should feel like they are at your house, but have their own space.
So in order to do this I would focus on: same colors, same furniture styles (but not identical), and same overall feeling.
Curtains – guest bedroom ideas
Adding in curtains to your guest bedroom will literally transform ANY room and especially if it is a small guest bedroom ideas!! This will complete your room without you doing and/or adding too much to it. So therefore, add in curtains that are similar to your house. If your main bedroom has beige/white curtains, make sure that you do something similiar. If you do not, you will be interfering what your guests will see as soon as they walk in. And we really want to focus on similarity between the guest bedroom with the rest of the house!
No Clutter
Having no clutter in any room would be the goal, but especially in your guest bedroom. I am here to give you all of the best bedroom inspiration ideas on a budget, but I really do think you need to come into designing this guest bedroom with “LESS IS MORE” idea! Or else you will get stuck with adding too many pieces to the room and too many colors that may clash. So write out a list for your small guest bedroom and what you want to incorporate. I will give you an example of what I did do for my small guest bedroom:
- Woven Bedframe
- One Nightstand/Table
- Statement Chair
- Basket with blankets
- TV
- Curtains
And that is literally all I wanted to add because I knew that this was what could fit in the room without adding a lot of clutter.

Entertainment & Relaxing – Guest Bedroom Ideas & Goals
When your guests are coming over to your home, it may be for a day, a weekend, or even more! They are probably coming over to relax and deplug a bit. I think everyone should focus on that. We are not really focusing on our guests making this room their home. We want them to be able to relax and entertain themselves when they are in this room. Here are some of my top guest bedroom inspiration tips:
Add in a TV with everything signed in: This means Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video, all of it should be signed in and ready to go.
Add in chargers for everything they could possibly need
Make sure you have enough pillows and blankets: I mean seriously, we have all been there where we are at someone’s house and there is nothing available for us to actually feel warm and cozy at night.
Have a place for everything: Make sure that your guests are not looking for things and where to put things or whatever it may be!
Make a THE Basket
Okay, I have been obsessed with this idea ever since I saw people talk about this. So you can put a big old basket full of pillows/blankets for them to use. That is great. However what about random things that they may have forgotten. I am going to do a whole post on guest bathroom inspiration. However, when we are talking about guest bedroom ideas on a budget. We still want to make sure our guests have it all for the most part. For example, get a basket and put some chapstick, lotion, bottled water, remotes, etc. I can write a whole list out, but I do want to save that for a guest bathroom inspiration list.
This is just an overall great idea to use for any guest bedroom!! Make sure guest feel welcomed!
Storage Space
Okay, so this can be your closet or just even a section of the guest bedroom, just make sure that your guests have enough space for their belongings. They do not want to step over their suitcases each time they come in the room and you do not want to either. Now, sometimes we may have to use the guest bedroom closet since it may be small. So make sure you are giving them enough space in the closet to hang a few clothes and put a suitcase in there. If not, maybe it is time for you to declutter… 😉 haha jk!
Luxurious Bedding
Now I have talked about what all to get for your small guest bedroom on a budget as well…however, like the theme of this post is, but we really want to focus on making sure that our guests feel welcomed and at home. So when I say “luxurious” bedding, I do not mean spend $1000 on bedding, but just make sure you are getting quality things. These are items that will not go bad shortly, because, well, you do not have guests every weekend (hopefully?…jk!!!). So invest in some pieces. I think a more affordable, luxurious bedding would have to be the Casaluna bedding from Target. I am going to link the things that I have personally used and think that are worth it. You can also get some other brands at Target that are better quality and will last awhile as well.
Here are some necessities:
4-6 Fluffy Pillows
