HOW TO DECORATE ENTRYWAY
Have you neglected your entryway because you really have no idea where to start?? The entryway is typically a place where we may not want to focus our attention on. Many people use their garage to come in their house and just do not worry too much about the entryway near the front door. However, you can definitely change up your entire vibe of your house if you focus on the entryway. And it really does not have to be a lot of planning into it!
Here are my top tips on how to decorate your entryway:
1. Decide on a table style and color
This is super important because really, the entryway decor focus starts from the table! You want to use a table that matches your house style, but is not the exact copy. For example, if my furniture is all black and/or white, I would pick a wood entry table. This adds so much dimension to the house and entry! You want that different texture in there.
2. Pick only 2-3 colors to decorate your entryway
This entryway is probably going to be small and you do not want to add clutter. You really want to focus on the entire vision of the area and not just the mini details. I am going to list the decor items I used and what i have seen interior designers use as well. You can definitely choose something totally different, but this is what I found with my research!
3. Decor Pieces for your Entryway:
Books: Just like a coffee table book, entryway table books look so chic! It is amazing how much your space elevates as soon as you add in some books. These books can be solid colors or even some fun colors you want to play with. You really can do so much with color in this instance!
Vases: Add in some character with your vases. Add in texturized vases, big or small, and only one or two and you literally do not need much!
Mirrors: For me, I think having a mirror is the focal point of your entryway decor style. Whatever mirror you choose and whatever color it may be, 9 times out of 10, it WILL look good and add in some usage for your entryway!
Greenery: This is what really adds color to a monotoned room! Adding in some fake greenery or even some from your yard, you want to add dimension by adding this touch of color.
Baskets: I did not have room for baskets underneath my table, but if I did, it would look so nice and all of my clutter would really fit perfectly!!! I wish I had the room for it underneath.
Beads: Beads have been a great trend and I am linking some that I have used before This just adds a little decor item that does not have to be so big and bold for your entryway.
4. SIMPLICITY IS KEY
Okay, but really be simple with your entryway. If you add too much or try too hard to make it unique from your house, you will be able to tell. You can make it the exact same as your house’s decor style or you can make it a little more edgier.
Overall, use some key pieces for your entryway and add in some pieces that elevate your house and its style. You do not have to spend a lot of money on this area of your house, but you should also not skip out on decorating this area. Especially since most of your guests will see this area first!
