THE ULTIMATE BATHROOM ESSENTIALS LIST FOR YOUR NEW OR FIRST HOME!
Cleaning Products:
I actually have an entire post on what the best bathroom cleaning products you need as part of our bathroom essentials list!
{Related post: The Ultimate Best Bathroom Cleaner Supply List}
I am going to basically list the basic cleaning products you need for your bathroom essentials list. Now, this is a simple list. Please do not do a TikTok of how many cleaning products one can put in their toilet. It is so not needed. Just work on simplicity and actually cleaning your bathroom, not just the aesthetic.
Bathroom essentials cleaning products:
- Toilet Brush
- Toilet Cleaner
- Bathroom Cleaning Spray
- Shower Spray
- Shower Sponge
- Paper Towels
- Gloves
All of my specific recommendations are in the post that I have from before. These are just the basics of what you will need to clean your bathroom before you move in, during, and even after you leave! This is just something you can screenshot to just take with you to the store.
Decor pieces:
This really depends SO much on your style and size of your bathroom. This could go for your guest bathroom and/or master bathroom. However, I really think that just simplicity is key with cleaning and with decorating when we are talking about our favorite bathroom essentials 😉
Runner rugs: Okay, is this a new trend? I am in love with the vintage looking runner rugs instead of ugly bathroom mats (nothing wrong with that, I have those now)! I am still trying to find some cute vintage runner rugs for my bathroom, but honestly, it is hard to find a good one! Leave me some recs please!
Plants: I think I literally talk about adding plants in almost every room in your house/apartment. But this is just like an added bonus of our ultimate bathroom essentials list 😉 Add in some greenery, fake or real! I think that greenery adds so much color without adding actual color? Does that make sense?
Vases: I love textured vases these days, but I also think clear vases are always a classic. You can add in real flowers, fake flowers, or you can just have them sitting there empty. Vases are actually a great addition to almost every room and they are usually pretty cheap!!
Pictures: Adding in some artwork to a bathroom can be tacky sometimes. However, if you just add in some neutral artwork whether it is a canvas or even just a digital print!
Hardware upgrade: I think that this is something that most people want to add, but think it is too expensive or just that it is a lot of work. Look on Amazon and Youtube!! If you want to replace your hardware with black matte, chrome, etc…whatever it may be. Adding in these details can definitely change your entire bathroom! Do not be scared!!!
Towels: Okay, Casaluna towels from Target…number one bathroom essentials item you need on our checklist. JK lol…Not really. Seriously, I love these towels and the colors and the texture they have! They are good quality, and they may be a bit more expensive than a $3 basic towel, but it is worth it. You are going to (hopefully) be using these towels everyday and you want them to be in good condition!
Another post I am working on is going to be all of the shower essentials you need such as body wash, shampoo, etc! This post will have a lot of in depth research being done, making sure we are using the right ingredients and all that, so stay tuned for that!
Bathroom essentials that you actually need:
Maybe, I should have started with this as this is the ultimate bathroom essentials list. This is kind of the boring side of things. However, it is what is actually needed to use a bathroom properly. You can also use these essentials and spice up the bathroom style as well!
Shower curtains: Target has some great and simple shower curtains! You can also get some at Ross, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls. Honestly, many bathroom essentials in this section can be found at these stores. Just make sure to keep looking and do not settle!!
Hand soaps: I like to use reusable soap and then use a clear soap dispenser with a gold top (ROSS 6$ btw) and it definitely gives my bathroom a chic, girly look! Love ittttttt 🙂
Countertop storage: Okay, so this can be from Q-tips to cotton rounds or whatever it may be. I found this beautiful, textured canister from Target. Now, this is one of those that may not be apart of really real bathroom essentials, but I do think that adding these cute decor pieces that is also a bathroom essential, is perfect for your bathroom!
Skincare storage: Luckily, I do have a lot of cabinets and I do live alone so I get to share my skincare in those cabinets. However, I have seen some acrylic shelves done in bathrooms as storage for skincare! This is actually super easy to get done and I feel like skincare would look super sleek in there. Definitely not apart of our bathroom essentials list, but it is a recommendation 😉
Trashcans: I like closed trashcans and then the stainless steel ones are just a classic. You can definitely find these on a budget at Walmart, Ross, Marshalls, etc…
SO that was my roundup on the ultimate bathroom cleaning list for your new and/or first home! I hope this list helps you. I definitely needed it when I was moving in and therefore, I knew that someone else would probably be looking for something that had everything they needed for their bathroom in one big old list.
Let me know if you need more recommendations for other rooms in your house/apartment!
