I am giving you my best genius home office ideas since I have created the best home office environment the last two years. Dare I say more? Many of us have gone at least 50% working from home and that is why we need the COVID home office ideas that will suit all of our needs! Most of these ideas will also work for small cozy home offices!
GENIUS HOME OFFICE IDEAS
1. COMBINE VANITY AND HOME OFFICE HOME OFFICE IDEAS FOR HER
So, this is what I did and trust me it has been a life changer! I am going to insert a picture of my office situation right now. It might not be the most aesthetically pleasing, but it is such a great functional home office idea for women in small spaces too! (ME) lol…
I have a few drawers for my makeup and nails in my vanity table.
2. FOR HIM: COMBINE GAME ROOM WITH HOME OFFICE
I would imagine this is a small home office and maybe your man (or you) need a gaming station. My biggest tip would be to just get a big enough table/desk for the small home offices out there. This is perfect for when you need to game after 5, but work before 5. You can have either one or two monitors and then stash your gaming equipment in your actual small home office closet!!
3. HOME OFFICE IDEAS WITH COUCH
This might not be ideal for all home offices. But I think even if you have a small home office ideas, then you can also think about adding in a lounging chair or couch in there to make it more cozy. I know sometimes I wish to want to sit down on the couch and continue to work, instead of sitting down in a office chair all day!
I think this is of course going to be dependent on your space and where you can fit it in!
4. GLASS CALENDAR
I have so many things going on (school, work, business, etc) that I was feeling super overwhelmed. Therefore, I got this BEAUTIFUL glass acrylic calendar from Target! It was not too expensive, and it is one of my best purchases. Such a good find and it looks chic! I know they have other types of calendars as well you can get too!
5. DESK ORGANIZERS
I want to do an entire post on this the day I can get it right… I seriously do believe that I need to find a better way to organize my desk since it is a big table. However, I do think these are the best desk organizers I found on Amazon:

6. DINING TABLE (MY BEST HOME OFFICE IDEA)
I do not think it was my original idea…however, I do think that this is one of the best ideas I had. I needed a BIG desk for my office. Just because I have so many devices: iPad, keyboard, mouse, iMac, etc! I needed enough space to create on my desk with my devices and then be able to also write/plan on the other half of my desk! And that is what I did. I looked for dining tables as my office desk and I think this is SUCH a good idea for big home offices. Of course, if you do not need it then you can definitely just get a smaller office table or whatever your needs are. I just thought I would put this idea out there for people who were struggling for a big white desk like me!

7. ADD A TV AND/OR MONITOR
Okay, so it all depends on you and your situation and exactly what you are needing. However, I do think that adding a tv is such a good idea to your home office! It does not have to be a very expensive one or anything like that. Just something that can have music playing, podcasts, Youtube, etc! I know how convenient it can be because I pretty much have used it every day! If you do not have space for one, think about getting a monitor like an iMac or really anything that is a big enough device if you need it. Just like everything I am saying, if you need it for your home office, get it. If you do not need it for your office do not get it!! Some people are good with a macbook. I am not…I need an iPad, TV, iMac all of it playing all the time so that I can see my vision in different spaces or see different parts of my vision in these devices!’
8. OFFICE CLOSET SPACE
If you have office closet space like me, then you know you might struggle with what to put in there. I think you should focus on decluttering your house first and then think what do I have space for that I don’t have a space for? If that makes any sense…
So for me, I was a previous teacher and had a lot of office supplies laying around. I would not want to throw it away because I could use it in the future, but had no space. So I got this organizer from Walmart and I popped it in my small office closet. I put pens, pencils, notebooks, paper, etc in there! It is perfect to keep you organized!

Also, you can pop in your printer in your office closet since sometimes you do not need it every day. Just depending on the field you are in and if you are using your office printer or not everyday!
9. FLOATING SHELVES
Now, if I ever get the chance to get a different home office room or a bigger one, I am going to add floating shelves. I am going to see if I can find some pins for this… I think floating shelves in a home office is so perfect for anything! You can use them for decor and/or functionality!
10. LAMPS
Lamps are such a home office essential that I think we often forget! Especially in the fall and winter time. I think adding lamps can be something you may think you do not need. But trust me…you need it! Use lamps anywhere in the room. So I made it a project of mine to find the right vintage looking lamps so that I can get the most out of it! It is a fun project for me to find a good looking lamp that will fit my vibe and I also need it for functionality. Great for those gloomy days and those late night grinding nights 😉
