5 Ways to DIY Fall Porch Decor!

Are we ready for the best DIY fall porch decor ideas?! I am ready for fall and some cooler weather and of course some fall home decor. I have many other posts on fall right now, but I wanted to solely focus on a fall porch decorating idea because there are so many ways to go about it! I hope these are somewhat useful to you!

Plan Out Your Porch

This really is something that should take you minutes. Either, take a picture of your porch to take with you to the store or write down everything you want to get! I like to focus on getting 3 main things and if I find anything else, then so be it, it is just an added on bonus. So, in this case, I will say I have a fairly decent sized porch so I am going to grab the first big 3 main things: Planter, Door Mat, Wreath! I am going to talk more about it when we start to talk about DIY fall porch decor, but this is just a rough draft to help me thinking on what I should be looking for online or in store.

2. DIY Fall Porch Decor Hacks

So what do I really mean by DIY? I mean seriously you can DIY the entire porch if you wanted to! However, I am going to keep it as minimum DIY as possible, because I am lazy. However I seriously think that getting a planter is a DIY, making your own door mat (so easy) – DIY!, and you can also DIY your wreath, but we aren’t going to be doing all that 😉

Here are some other DIY hacks:

Add Pampas Grass in a big vase instead of a planter
Add Greenery and/or Leaves to a planter
Paint your planter black in order to get the fall vibe
Stencil in “fall” or other fall like sayings to your door mat
Add pumpkins to make it look more fuller

3. Fall Decor Wreaths

I am going to list out my favorite wreaths, but I have to say fall wreaths are just beautiful!! This is something that a lot of DIYers can literally do in seconds and look beautiful. I am not one of those, if I were to DIY my entire fall porch, this would not be one to do (for me)!! Get a wreath you actually like and will continue to use especially if you are going to be spending a lot of money on it. I think focus on getting a quality wreath that will last you for years for the fall time instead of getting something to get by! However, I did choose the white/green wreath for my decor choice this year!

4. Pick Flowers/Plants/Greenery

I chose a planter as my main item, but this does not have to be the case for you! I think you can even get a big old floor vase and get flowers/greenery for that. It is whatever you are looking for. I am going to be adding in a green plant that will not die (hopefully…)

5. Door Mat + Rug

Like mentioned before, you can definitely work on getting a black door mat and then stencil in letters or so! Or just buy a door mat that will go for Fall and Winter…now the key is to pick a fall outdoor/indoor rug! I love this part. I think the rug really ties in the entire fall porch decor “look.” The rug can be a fall color, or really any darker cool to match the fall and winter vibe as well! I like to have a darker color so that it goes well for the entire season of Fall and the rest of the year!
